Abstract
We measured the static magnetic susceptibility of κ-(BEDT-TTF)2Cu[N(CN)2]Cl. The temperature dependence of the susceptibility can be explained, by an activating-type temperature dependence in the overall paramagnetic state below about 100 K. There is no anisotropic behavior in the paramagnetic state within the experimental resolution. Therefore, in contrast to the superconducting salt κ-(BEDT-TTF)2X (X=Cu(NCS)2, Cu[N(CN)2]Br) the corresponding phase transition at T* (= 46-50 K in X = Cu(NCS)2, 37-38 K in X = Cu[N(CN)2]Br) does not exist in the present compound.
