Abstract
The antiferromagnetism at elevated temperatures, characteristic for Lu 2Fe17, is also observed in (Lu1-xY x)2Fe17 compounds up to x=0.8 with a gradual decrease of the temperature range of its stability. All compounds exhibit an easy-plane type of magnetic anisotropy. The average Fe magnetic moment and the first anisotropy constant depend weakly on the Y content with a non-linearity probably originating from a non-statistical occupation of Lu sites by Y atoms.
