Abstract
We have grown a CeAu2Si2 single crystal and measured the magnetization, specific heat and electrical resistivity as functions of magnetic field and temperature. The obtained results are interpreted in terms of antiferromagnetic (AF) ordering of Ce magnetic moments below the Néel temperature TN = 4K. At temperatures below TN we observe a metamagnetic transition from AF to ferromagnetic state in magnetic field applied along the c-axis. The strong uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy has been found both in AF as well as in the paramagnetic state.
