Abstract

We present various investigations of the magnetization and the AC magnetic susceptibility studies on the single crystal Ce3Pd20Ge6 (TN = 0.75 K, TQ = 1.2 K). The magnetization process at 0.4 K for three principal axes using a pulsed field magnet up to 30 T shows large anisotropy. The magnetic moment for B//[1 0 0] is largest of all and reached 2.1 μB/Ce at 30 T, which is the same as that of the Ce3+ (J = 5/2) full moments. The magnetic phase diagram was constructed by using the AC susceptibility and the magnetization data.
