Abstract

In this paper, a novel universal method to calculate the maximum power transfer efficiency for arbitrary multiple input multiple output wireless power transfer (MIMO-WPT) system is presented by using multiport impedance matrix. The method can be applied to evaluate the maximum transfer efficiency of any types of transmitting and receiving elements, and obtain the optimum impedance as well. The effectiveness and flexibility of the new approach will be demonstrated by applying some MIMO-WPT systems.
