Abstract

Recent technical advancement in MDCT permits detailed vascular evaluations to be performed over a wide range. MDCT is used as "One Stop Shopping Imaging" in most of vascular diseases because vascular lumen, vascular wall including plaque status, and surrounding structures can be simultaneously evaluated. Current progression of workstation enables easy processing of 3D images. On the other hand, to ensure that the advantages of MDCT are fully exploited, scanning should be performed at the optimal contrast timing using appropriate scanning protocols according to the disease and other factors. Knowledge of image processing and other vascular imaging modality is necessary for adequate usage of MDCT.
