Abstract

The microstructure and magnetic properties of Mn-Sn-N and Mn-Sn-Co-N alloys were investigated. All the samples showed low remanences, although high coercivity of 876kA/m was observed in the Mn-Sn-Co-N alloys. The substitution of Co for Mn increased coercivity. The sample with high coercivity consisted of a fine two-phase microstructure of 0.52 μm in size.
