N2 - The results of Higuchi's research on VLSI computing system by making digital signal processing a concrete application, are discussed. The concepts were developed to multiple-valued decision diagram (MDD) in logic design, universal and programmable logic modules and field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), logic-in-memory, architecture, system-on-chip, reconfigurable VLSI, set-valued logic, and molecular computing. A possibility of constructing high-density parallel computing architecture using electrode-based artificial catlyst devices are also evaluated. It is found that the practical implementation still requires cooperative study in many fields.
