Abstract

The development of high capacity networks using wavelength division multiplexing technologies (WDM) was discussed. A narrow bandwidth polarization scrambler (PS), based on delayed binary phase pulses coupled with orthogonal polarization, offered narrow spectrum bandwidth for the super-dense WDM (SD-WDM) networks. The performance of proposed PS was experimentally confirmed for carrier-distributed SD-WDM network without clock synchronization.
