Abstract

The development of information industry in recent years is largely attributable to the eminent development of flat-panel display technology as an interface between people and information. The innovation of flat-panel displays will pioneer the possibility of new information services in the future. Even though there are many different display types including plasma display panels and organic light-emitting diodes, the liquid crystal display evolved from small to large area and used many different optical operation modes, such as projection, reflective, and semi-transmissive displays.
