Nondestructive detection of cracks in a distribution line by evluating magnetic field distribution

Abstract

The nondestructive detection of cracks in a distribution line was carried out by evaluating magnetic field distribution. The output voltage of the search coil was measured with respect to various gaps between sensor and the conducting wire. The output decreases about 3% by the crack when the gap is 3mm.
