title = "Nondestructive detection of fatigue damage accumulation of RPV steel",
abstract = "Nondestructive methods for measurement and evaluation of fatigue damage in A508 RPV steels have been investigated for inservice inspection of fatigue damage accumulation during the service operation of reactor vessels. One is a newly developed electrochemical method which can detect and evaluate the fatigue damage accumulated in a material before initiation of cracks and the other is the one based upon a quantitative relationship between microcrack density at surface and fatigue damage accumulation represented by parameters such as usage factor or Coffin-Manson type damage parameter. Detection mechanisms of fatigue damage by these methods were described in details.",
