Abstract

Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of a charge transfer (CT) complex, OMTTF (bis(tetramethylene)tetrathiafulvalene)-C10TCNQ (decyltetracyanoquinodimethane) were fabricated and the optical properties were examined. The UV-visible-NIR as well as IR spectra showed a neutral CT state of the complex. The nonlinear optical parameters were evaluated by the electroabsorption and second harmonic generation measurements. The Χ(2) value of 10 pm/V was obtained by the latter method.
