Nonlinear ultrasound propagation in a spherical bubble cloud

Recently, HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) has attracted much attention in medical applications due to its minimal invasiveness. In HIFU applications, the high pressure amplitude in the ultrasound focal region generates acoustic cavitation. When the cavitation collapses violently, high pressure is generated and cavitation erosion is observed. In order to understand the relationship between the high pressure and nonlinear ultrasound propagation in the bubble cloud, we numerically investigate the oscillation of a bubble cloud which consists of many micro bubbles.
