On Deriving -ing Adjectives

The present study aims to clarify the nature of the lexical processes operating in the derivation of -ing adjectives based on psych verbs. I argue in favor of the view that the effects of the relevant lexical processes are predictable from the Projection Principle if we adopt a particular mode of lexical representation and assume principles of argument realization guiding the mapping between the lexical representations and the syntactic structures.
