Abstract

The application of a cobalt-base amorphous magnetic core in an “all-magnetic” audio amlifier is reported. A two-stage Lufcy circuit was driven by a 100 kHz power supply. The control characteristics showed good linearity, and amplification by 56 dB was achieved. The frequency characteristic for sine wave input signals was nearly flat over the entire audible frequency range, and overall sound quality was good.
