Abstract

A TDM signal with two channels (2.62Gbit/s × 2) has been successfully demultiplexed and routed for each channel by using stimulated four-wave mixing in a dispersion-shifted fibre and a novel wavelength router consisting of optical circulators and fibre gratings. The advantages of this wavelength router are a sharp spectral edge and low insertion loss.
