Abstract
The optical resonator geometry of the JAERI ERL-FEL is optimized to ensure high-power operation. The FEL power strongly depends on the performance of the optical resonator including output efficiency, round-trip loss, and interaction mode volume. The performance of the optical resonator is evaluated by a simulation code using the Fox-Li procedure. The optimum resonator parameters for the JAERI ERL-FEL are determined through a numerical evaluation of the optical resonator.
