Abstract

New thiophene-containing organic semiconductors, dinaphtho[2,3-b:2′, 3′-f]thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (DNTT) consisting of six aromatic rings and highly soluble 2,7-dialkyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b] [1]benzothiophenes (C n-BTBTs) were developed and tested as semiconducting materials in organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). Vapor deposited thin films of DNTT acted as a superior FET channel showing mobility up to 3.0 cm2V -1s-1. On the other hand, Cn-BTBTs gave solution-processed OTFTs with mobility higher than 1.0 cm2V -1s-1.
