    Abstract

In the search for new phosphors among Eu2+-activated compounds with various compositions described as MAlSixOy:Eu 2+ (M=Li, Na, K), a parallel solution-based synthesis approach was applied to select candidates as potential phosphors for white LED systems. Among them, sodium aluminosilicates with x=0.5 and 1 exhibited emission bands in the wavelength range of 400-700 nm with peak centers at 473 nm for x=0.5 and at 553 nmfor x=1 with the corresponding excitation maxima at 290 and 320 nm, respectively.
