N2 - A theory on the perpendicular magnetoresistance of antiferromagnetically coupled magnetic multilayers is discussed, which is based on the Landauer-Büttiker scattering formalism. New experimental results on the perpendicular magnetoresistance of microstructured Fe/Cr magnetic multilayers are presented and compared with the theory.
