Abstract
A method to determine the phase equilibria of the Al2O 3-CaF2-FeOn system was discussed. The aim of the study was to investigate ways of decreasing the total emission of fluoride and thus minimize its impact on the environment. Observations of phase relations were carried out at 1673 and 1723 K. Results show that the addition of alumina to the CaF2-FeO system does not affect the composition range of the miscibility gap.
