N2 - Bubble-diffuse type destratification system is widely used in lakes and reservoirs that have problems related to algal water bloom caused by cyanobacteria. However, the planning methodology on proper installation of destratification system in terms of number, or air flow rate, of bubblers has not been established. In this paper, we propose a methodology to tackle this problem, by simulating and evaluating the gradient of water temperature of near-surface layer which is known to have relationships with occurrence of water bloom. A laterally averaged 2-dimensional hydrodynamic model was developed and verified in Haji Dam reservoir, where the destratification system has already been installed against algal bloom. By using the model, the proposed methodology was applied to the reservoir under the condition in 2001, and the current installation scale is evaluated as proper.
