    Abstract

Polarized UV resonance Raman and absorption spectra have been measured of monolayers of an azobenzene-containing, single-chain ammonium amphiphile adsorbed at the aqueous solution-carbon tetrachloride interface. The number, orientation, and interaction of adsorbed molecules have been examined as a function of concentration of the aqueous solution.
