Abstract

The issue of metal recycling and dioxins was discussed in this paper. Present states on base metals recycling and dioxins emission in Japan and the world were shown in this paper because a dioxin emission issue has recently become important in metals recycling in Japan. Technological issues in recycling base metals, such as aluminum, copper, zinc and lead, were summarized, respectively. A future strategy for development of reducing processes of dioxins in recycling base metals was also commented briefly.
