Abstract

The laser-induced fluorescence method has been applied to measure the rotational distribution of the CO+ ions produced by (2+1) resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization via the E1Π (3pπ) state of jet-cooled CO. The CO+ ions produced are highly rotationally state selected.
