Abstract
We have made ultrasonic investigations of Ce0.5La0.5B6 below 1 K. A remarkable increase of the attenuation of the C44 mode is due to the fluctuation of the quadrupolar moment of the Γ8 ground state. The effects of the Kondo singlet formation at very low temperatures are discussed.
