Abstract
We have studied the magnetization of the Al-Pd-Mn system using high-quality single crystals. Below room temperature, field-cooled magnetization exceeds zero-field-cooled magnetization. In addition, thermoremanent magnetization has disappeared at the same temperature. The results suggest the formation of quasimagnetic clusters in the Al-Pd-Mn system, although the relaxation of the thermoremanent magnetization was not observed. We discuss this anomalous magnetic phase in the Al-Pd-Mn system and refer to the origin of the behaviors.
