Abstract

Recycling of rare metal containing advanced materials were considered from the standpoints of energy and resources savings, for such materials were highly processed consuming a lot of energy during the production steps. It is more effective that the advanced materials are reprocessed through the suitable steps corresponding to their ultra high purity and/or fine morphology and reformed to the value added materials. New separation methods which were applicable to the recycling of advanced materials were discussed. Examples of recycling of rare metals such as titanium and niobium from their advanced materials were introduced with the separation methods and plant scale applications.
