Abstract

Comprehensive studies on 2-D honeycomb-type magnets (NBu4)[MIIFeIII(ox)3] (MII = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu) reveal that the family orders ferrimagnetically at comparable temperatures (2143 K). Moreover, the mixed-valence FeIIFeIII compound magnetically orders at an elevated temperature (43 K) relative to other MIIFeIII compounds (2128 K). The relevance of these magnetic characteristics to other families is reviewed.
