Dynamic recrystallization behavior of 23CrNi3Mo steel was investigated by means of single-pass compression tests on a Gleeble-1500 thermo-mechanical simulator at temperature of 900, 950, 1000, 1050°C and strain rate of 0.01, 0.1 and 1 s-1. The influence of temperature and strain rate on dynamic recrystallization and microstructure of 23CrNi3Mo drill steel was studied. The results show that the DRX activation energy of the 23CrNi3Mo steel is 293.23 kJ/mol. A method was developed to determine the critical strain and the peak strain, and the average value of εcp is 0.63. The material parameters in the hyperbolic sine constitutive equation were determined, and the dynamic recrystallization model and grain size model are set up by data of thermo-simulation and microstructure.
