Abstract

A La(LIII) complex, La-(R)-tppn (tppn = N,N,N',N'- tetrakis(2-pyridinylmethyl)-(R)-propylenediamine), is reported for the first time to resolve the enantiomer signals of α-amino acids in weakly acidic solution as a diamagnetic lanthanide complex. The induced signal separation showed good correspondence between the relative position of the enantiomer signals and the absolute configuration of α-amino acids.
