Abstract

The development of the coke less partial upgrading process for bitumen by the mild cracking of asphaltene was investigated. The experiments were carried out that cracking of heavy crude oil with the high temperature and high-pressure water. The pressure vessel with optical windows was used for the experiments. Then, the phase behavior of water and oil under high temperature high-pressure condition was observed. In this paper, the role of water will be discussed based on these results of observation and analysis of produced oils.
