Sealed hollow infrared fibers for medical applications: Experiment in laser lithotripsy

Abstract

An infrared laser delivery system with a hollow optical fiber whose output end is sealed with a quartz cap is introduced. The potential of the fiber delivery system in medicine is shown by a laser lithotripsy experiment.
