Abstract
The second-harmonic spectrum from pyroelectric and ferrimagnetic GaFeO 3 has been observed under several configurations of polarized light and has been theoretically analyzed based on the microscopic model of ligand field theory for the Fe3+ ion. The linear Kerr rotation spectrum has been observed and used to supplement the microscopic model.
