Abstract

Clathrate Ba6Ce2Au4Si42 was prepared by melting the stoichiometric amounts of the elements using a rf-induction furnace under an argon atmosphere. The product was analyzed by x-ray diffraction measurement from room temperature down to 0.9 K. It was observed that in the Ba6Ce2Au4Si42, the interactions between magnetic f and conduction electrons play an important role for spin ordering.
