title = "Simulation for the assessment of wall thinning using eddy current method",
abstract = "A pipe with protective cladding and insulation was simplified to a four-layered structure when the diameter of a pipe is large enough, and analytical solutions for sinusoidal and pulsed wave excitation were derived. Simulation implemented by using the analytical solutions showed that sinusoidal excitation is not appropriate for the monitoring of inner thinning, while pulsed eddy current method can be used to measure wall-thickness regardless of inner or outer thinning by using the decay rate of log(Bz) as a particular parameter to evaluate wall thickness.",
