Abstract
A small-angle neutron scattering spectrometer (SANS-U) has been constructed in the guide hall of the JRR-3M reactor of the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (Tokai). The instrument is composed of a mechanical velocity selector, collimator flight tube, sample chamber, two-dimensional position-sensitive detector and data acquisition system. The SANS-U is a convenient tool for mesoscopic studies in the biological and polymer sciences.
