Abstract
The structural and hydrogen/deuterium desorption properties of AIH 3/AID3 were investigated by Raman spectroscopy, high-intensity X-ray/neutron diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. The latter revealed that more than 9.6 mass% of hydrogen/18.1 mass% of deuterium desorbs from AlH3/AlD3, respectively. The presence of χ-Al2O3 on the surface may prevent the hydrogen/deuterium desorption reaction of AlH3/AlD3 to Al at room temperature.
