Abstract

Electrochemical oxidation of [(η5-C5Me 5)2Fe2S4] in MeCN containing NH 4PF6 affords [(η5-C5Me 5)2Fe2S4](PF6) 2 in which a bidentate μ-S2 ligand in the parent complex is converted to a doubly bidentate μ-S2 ligand; the structure of the resulting Fe2S4 core can be described as a distorted octahedron, as shown by an X-ray crystal structure determination.
