Abstract

The magic Al13+H2O cluster was analyzed. The matrix isolated clusters were analyzed using Raman spectroscopy. The conjugate-gradient iterative-minimization technique was used for the minimization of free energy over the degrees of freedom of the electron densities and atomic positions. The Al13+H2O was found to be the first magic Al cluster through molecular adsorption.
