Abstract

The mixed buoyancy-thermocapillay flow in a half-zone liquid bridge with the dynamic Bond number was investigated numerically using finite element method. It was shown that in 2D steady regime, thermocapillary convection was enhanced by the buoyancy while gravity paralleling with temperature gradient and was weakened by buoyancy while gravity anti-paralleing with temperature gradient. The approximate similarities of temperatures and velocity structures in 2D regime for different Prandtl number with Bond number were found to be possible for a fixed Reynolds number and Marangoni number.
