Abstract

Three-dimensional large scale incompressible flow simulation was demonstrated in this paper by using Building-Cube Method that has advantages of equally-spaced Cartesian mesh method. The validations were performed by solving flow field around a sphere to compare drag coefficient at Reynolds number 100, 1000 and 5000, and Ahmed body to compare the velocity profile at Reynolds number 2.8 million. As an application, large scale parallel computation was conducted around a formula 1 racing car model to investigate the parallel efficiency by flat MPI or hybrid MPI parallelization.
