Abstract

0.1SnO-24.9SrO-75B2O3, 0.5SnO-24.5SrO-75B 2O3, 0.5SnO-40Li2O-40B2O 3-20SiO2, and 5SnO-60ZnO-40P2O5 glasses were developed and evaluated on their scintillation properties. They all exhibited a broad luminescent peak around 400 nm due to Sn2+ ns 2 type emission. In pulse height spectra, the absolute light yield of the brightest sample, 5SnO-60ZnO-40P2O5,was around 400 ph/5.5 MeV-α.
