Abstract
Successive magnetic phase transitions, from a paramagnetic to a collinear antiferromagntic (F) and then into a triangular (D) phase, observed in Mn3Pt are studied theoretically on the basis of the Heisenberg Hamiltonian by using the mean-field approximation. Exchange interactions between second-neighboring Mn atoms play an important role in the F-D phase transitions.
