Abstract
The spinel oxide Li1+xTi2O4 with -0.3 ≤ x ≤ 1 has successfully been synthesized by the electrochemical Li intercalation/deintercalation technique. In the Li intercalation process, T c ∼ 12 K is found to be almost independent of x, which is guessed to be due to the formation of a two-phase mixture of superconducting Li 1+xTi2O4 (x = 0-0.2) with Tc ∼ 12 K and nonsuperconducting Li2Ti2O4. In the Li deintercalation process, on the other hand, Tc is found to slightly increase up to 13.3 K.
