Abstract
Aurivillius oxides having mole ratio of BiO (Sr0.5, Ca0.5) = 1 2 are not only good conductors at room temperature but also superconductors having a Tc range from 83 to 107 K. The superconducting compositions in this system are accompanied by large expansion during sintering. An oxide BiSrCaCu2Ox (n = 2) shows a maximum Tc value, 107 K, and an onset temperature well above the Tc.
