Abstract

In the present study, questionnaire surveys and field measurements were carried out in urban areas of China to clarify the association between children's allergic diseases and indoor environment. From this study it was revealed that several questionnaire items regarding indoor air quality were associated with some children's allergic diseases. It was also suggested that VOCs and PM25 are major factors of children's allergic diseases in China. By comparing with a previous study in Japan, it was found that the prevalence rates of children's allergic diseases and indoor concentrations of airborne fungi and TVOC in Japan were higher than in China.
