Abstract

Two geometrical isomers of a [(Cp*Rh)4W4O16] oxide cluster, a triple cubane-type and a windmill-type, are isolated selectively from the systems of [Cp*Rh]2+ and [WO4]2- in CH3CN using different reaction temperatures. Both isomers, which interconvert in certain solutions, are characterized by X-ray diffraction.
