Abstract

We developed a novel artificial chaperone and drug delivery system using cholesteryl group-bearing pullulan (CHP) nanogels. In this report, we synthesized cholesteryl group-bearing cluster dextrin which is highly branched dextrin with narrow molecular weight distribution (CH-CDex). The number of cholesteryl groups per 100 glucose units were 1.5 by 1H-NMR. Solution properties of CH-CDex in water were investigated by SEC-MALS and DLS. CH-CDex formed self-associates consisting of 3-4 CH-CDex macromolecules, and the particle size (diameter) was 40 nm by DLS.
